Our wedding in the heart of Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle
With Kelly’s family and friends based in Europe and Yasas’s in New Zealand and Australia, we wanted a wedding destination roughly in between but also somewhere meaningful that bridged our worlds. Sri Lanka stood out naturally: it’s where Yasas was born and raised, and its landscapes and culture made it an ideal spot for everyone to come together.
After considering a few options across the island, we chose Heritance Kandalama for its unique setting. Designed by local icon Geoffrey Bawa, the hotel blends into misty mountains, tropical forests, and Kandalama Lake, surrounded by ancient rock formations.
